Publishing and Bookselling in Georgia
Results of a survey on book publishing and distribution, 2012-2013
The study on "Publishing and Bookselling in Georgia" was commissioned in late 2012 by the Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association (GPBA) to local
consultants Mr. Giorgi Sabanadze and Ms. Tamara Janashia, who worked under the general guidance of the Book Platform senior expert Rüdiger Wischenbart.
The study is based on a survey of thirty-four publishing companies, three distributors and twelve bookstores which agreed to complete a detailed questionnaire on all aspects of the book business in Georgia, which makes it the first-ever attempt to analyze the industry based on direct information provided by stakeholders and on all statistical data that can be found from a wide array of sources.
The publication consists of the following chapters:
