Armenia

The book publishing sector of Armenia slowly but in steady steps continues to progress. The Armenian legislation is favorable to the organizations of book sector but under
the present economic, social and regional difficult circumstances they still face difficulties in selling the book product and developing reading. Today about 2500 books titles are published
annually that represents an increase of 50% from previous decade. Average print run for all book publications except textbooks, is 500 copies. Under these conditions, business development is
difficult and still publishers, booksellers and authors alike invest significant efforts in getting Armenian books to the population of all the regions of the Republic to revive their interest in
reading, in developing the 500-year old Armenian book tradition and in preserving the reputation of Armenian book internationally.
