Straelen is a host of literary translation seminar for Georgian and German translators
Between 16 and 22 November 2015 the Europäisches Übersetzer-Kollegium in Straelen, Germany is hosting a literary translation seminar for Georgian and German
translators initiated by Georgian National Book Center. Twelve Georgian and German-language translators participate in the seminar, and the sessions are led by
the experienced literary translators Rosemarie Tietze and Natia Mikeladze-Bakhsoliani (Georgian-German), Alexander Kartozia (German-Georgian). The participants work together and analyze the ways of
translating fiction from Georgian into German and from German into Georgian.
The current issues related to literary translations in general are discussed with the special guest-speakers Dirk Knippals (Literary critic, Journalist at Tageszeitung) and Tatjana Michaelis (Editor at Carl Hanser Verlag).
Partner organizations: the program of European Translators Fund, Robert Bosch Fund, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Art Fund NRW and Goethe Institute-Tbilisi.
