Results of First Round of Events Participation Support Scheme
The Events Participation Support
Scheme, which was launched on October 21, 2013, received 21 applications. These were carefully reviewed by the Local Advisory Committees, which made a selection of 15
participants out of these 21, which were further approved by Next Page Foundation. The selection process is followed and documented in the form of memos, which are available for each
Advisory Committee here. All the reports of the participants will be available

Book Platform at Leipzig Book Fair 2014
At the latest Leipzig Book Fair (13-16 March 2014), the Book
Platform project was presented by the Ukrainian and the Georgian project partners. Ukraine presented the
professional discussion "Translating Ukraine: German Experience", which gathered an audience of over 35 translators, authors, journalists, researches and other visitors interested in the topic. The project was presented by the
various informational materials and studies publications, available at four stands at the fair – the Ukrainian partner of the project and organizer of the Ukrainian program – NGO
Publishers' Forum, the Georgian partner of the project – Georgian Book Publishers Association, the International Literature Corporation "Meridian Czernowitz", and the translation union

Events Participation: Arevik Ashkharoyan in Straelen, Germany
On March 5-13, 2014, a training for German-Armenian, Armenian-German, Georgian-German and German-Georgian translators took place in Straelen, Germany,
organized by Goethe Institute Tbilisi. Arevik Ashkharoyan received an invitation, and with the support of the Events Participation Support Scheme of Book Platform project, it
was made possible to take part in the training. During a one-hour presentation, held for around 25 participants, Ms. Ashkharoyan talked about the activities of Book Platform
project in Armenia, distributed brochures with the study on Publishing and Bookselling in Armenia, and presented the studies of translations from Armenian into 11 European

Events Participation: Ukrainian Participants in Leipzig
With the support of the Events Participation
Support Scheme, three translators from the "Prostory" periodical – Nelia Vakhovska, Nataliya
Tchermalykh and Vasyl Lozynskyi, and two cultural managers from the International Literature Corporation "Meridian
Czernowitz" - Sviatoslav Pomerantsev and Yevheniia Lopata, had the possibility to participate in Leipzig
Book Fair. All participants emphasized that they "managed to implement a number of plans and fully achieved the aims of participation in

Forthcoming: Book Platform at London Book Fair 2014
London Book Fair is just around the corner, less than a week away. This
year the fair will take place between 8 and 10 April. The Book Platform project will be presented at
the fair by the Armenian and Georgian project partners. Arevik Ashkharoyan, local project manager for Armenia, will be at the Armenian Pavilion, located at U145, with informational and promotional materials of the project, and publications of studies carried out within the project. Ms. Ashkhariyan will participate in a fair for the Armenian Community, and will have around 30 meetings with publishers, agents and writers to talk about Armenian book market, and represent 1st Armenian Literary Agency, Armenian Literature Foundation and Book Platform project. Materials and information about the project will be available as well at the Georgian national stand, located at U205. The stand is hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, and the Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association - the Georgian partner of the Book Platform project. |
Visiting News: Call for Participation in Visegrad Academy of Cultural Management
The Visegrad Academy of Cultural Management (VACuM) is 24 months training with three residential phases (1-10 September 2014: Krakow; 9-18 March 2015: Prague; 11-14 September 2015: Tbilisi) dedicated for professionals working in cultural field in the Visegrad Group countries (V4) ie. Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Eastern Partnership countries (EaP): Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Deadline for application: 15th May 2014. Book Platform staff and stakeholders gathered in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia in the end of July 2014 for a week-long final self-evaluation and sustainability session on the project.
